Limoilou Titan commits to University of MontrΓ©al

Carabins bring in thirteenth commit.

Sometimes all the pieces just fall into place. Ask Olivier Paquet-Brisson, a defensive end from CΓ©gep Limoilou, and he will probably say the same thing after committing to the MontrΓ©al Carabins.

Paquet-Brisson will be travelling down the St. Lawrence River from his hometown of QuΓ©bec City to reach MontrΓ©al. He was drawn to the Carabins because he felt the team, and the school, were the right fits for him.

β€œFor a football perspective, MontrΓ©al is one of the best teams in the country and I will have the chance to compete at my first year,” he said.

β€œFor a scholar perspective, the administration program at MontrΓ©al is one of the greatest in Canada too. Between each university who I talked to, MontrΓ©al was the only one who were able to offer me this level of football and studies at the same time,” Paquet-Brisson added.

The University of MontrΓ©al has so much to offer a young football player. But, it’s appeal also steams a little bit deeper than competitiveness and academics. β€œI think that MontrΓ©al is a big family. That’s what the coaching staff is based on I think. Every coach is familiar to every player in the team. I think its a big part of their success. That is what I was looking for,” Paquet-Brisson said.

Standing at 6’3, 230lbs, Paquet-Brisson spent his high school career with the Laser de l’Γ©cole des Sentier (RΓ©seau du sport Γ©tudiant du QuΓ©bec). In his five years at the school, he was named to the RSEQ all-star team in 2011, 2012 and 2013. This year, while with the Titans du CΓ©gep Limoilou (RSEQ Division 1), he was given another all-star recognition.
