NCAA Signing Day 2018: Allain decides to stick around Pennsylvania a little longer than expected

CFC100 DL Michael Allain (Mercyhurst Prep, PA)

Michael Allain has had to make some tough decisions during his football journey so far, but itā€™s all finally paid off with him signing his letter of intent to play for Robert Morris University.

Allain began his career in Ontario taking part in the FPC Showcase and playing for multiple programs like the North Halton Crimson Tide, Cambridge Lions, Guelph Jr. Gryphons and Christ the King in high school, but he then decided that he needed to make a massive change in order to help his recruiting chances. This led him to Lake Forest Academy in Illinois where he was able to gain some much needed U.S exposure in 2016, but once again Allain felt like it was time for a move after the season.

He was able to land gracefully at Mercyhurst Prep in Pennsylvania where he joined forces with fellow Canadians top ranked CFC100 prospect Jesse Luketa and their star kicker Michael Bobak, which turned out to be a trio to be wrecking with no matter what side of the border they were on. Allain put together a great season at defensive end with his size and speed overwhelming anybody who thought they could take him lightly, and he helped lead the Lakers to a 10-1 mark recording 8 sacks and 59 tackles along the way. Unfortunately their perfect run would end in heartbreak, but Allain still got a nod for his efforts in the trenches with a honourable mention on the the District 10 All-Star team – but more importantly he got his name on the radar of local Robert Morris who took a liking to his play on the field.

Itā€™s been a long road to stardom for Allain up to this point, but at least the staff at Robert Morris know theyā€™re getting a dedicated athlete whoā€™s willing to do whatever it takes to rise to the top.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
