BC High School Notable Performances: Cobb, Lopez provide 1-2 punch in Rams quarterfinal win

BC HIGH SCHOOL NOTABLE PERFORMANCeS:

• Mt. Douglas RB Gavin Cobb had seven carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns whileRB Manny Lopez had seven carries for 101 yards in a 51-13 win over Kelowna.
• Mt. Douglas QB Gideone Kremler went 11-of-15 for 151 yards and two touchdowns, including a 60-yard touchdown pass to REC Gevhahn McNally-Hardisty in the win over Kelowna. Aidan Kachanoski had a three-yard rushing TD and six tackles and a sack.
• Carson Graham RB Flynn Heyes had 34 carries for 215 yards and three touchdowns, while QB Tyler Nylander went 8-of-11 for 105 yards and a touchdown while also carrying 10 times for 60 yards and a score in a 34-20 win over Prince George.Christoph Stanlg had 14 tackles, while Aaron Skye had eight tackles and a sack.
• Prince George RB Isaac Rogers had 22 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-20 loss to Carson Graham. LB Trent Price had 10 tackles.
• New Westminster RB Trew Dancey had eight carries for 54 yards and touchdown runs of 45 and seven yards in a 27-13 win over St. Thomas More. RB David Penalver had a 22-yard TD run, while REC Michael Thind had a 40-yard touchdown reception. RB Gurvir Ghuman also had a 40-yard touchdown run.
• St. Thomas More RB Lucas Dalla-Vecchia had a 20-yard touchdown run in a 27-13 loss to New Westminster. Tyler Eckert blocked a punt and ran it back 43 yards for a score as well.
• Terry Fox RB Jeremie Kankolongo had touchdown rushes of 11 and five yards, as well as a 26-yard touchdown reception in a 33-14 win over South Delta. QB Jake Labergethrew a pair of touchdowns in the victory.
• South Delta RB Billy Matwichyna had a 53-yard touchdown run, while QB Michael Calvert had a 63-yard touchdown run off a botched punt attempt in a 33-14 loss to Terry Fox.
• Vancouver College DL Jagroop Sandhu had a 20-yard pick six as part of a 27-0 win over Notre Dame. QB Jacob Samuels found REC Rysen John on a 15-yard touchdown strike, while RB Michael Le had a three-yard touchdown run. Chris Ellisfinished with seven tackles, while Bobby Singh added three of his own.
• Abbotsford REC Chase Claypool had four receiving touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns as well as an interception on defence to lift his team to a 50-36 win over John Barsby. QB John Madigan threw four touchdown passes.
• John Barsby RB Justis Mackay-Topley had 28 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns in a 50-36 loss to Abbotsford. RB Matt Cooley rushed for 87 yards in addition to two touchdowns.
• GW Graham QB Gabe Olivares had a 14-yard touchdown pass to REC Tyler Sprott, touchdown passes of eight and 25 yards to REC Emerson Smith, and finally had a one-yard quarterback sneak TD rush in overtime for the winning points in a 33-27 win over Holy Cross.
• Holy Cross QB Patrick Shoemay had a pair of touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns including one from 79 yards out in a 33-27 loss to GW Graham.
• Langley RB Akuza Okoli had rushing touchdowns of 24 yards and one yard as part of a 28-27 win over Vernon.
