Late July weather does not generally inspire thoughts of playoff football, but in the Ontario Summer football leagues the spike in the heat means playoff time!! Last weekend the first round in both the OVFL and OFC got underway with temperatures reaching into the 30’s with the humidity. In the OVFL the JV and Varsity levels, Wild Card weekend ushered in the 2014 playoffs, while on the OFC side it was the conference semi-finals that kicked things off. The shock of the week took place in Toronto as the 6-2 Thunder fell at home to a 3-5 Grenadiers….that’s why they play the games!!
