CIS CONFERENCE POWER RANKINGS 2014 (13): Surprising change at #1! Who will it be?

Hard to believe it but after this weekend the curtain closes on the 2014 CIS football season. It’s been a year and although it’s not quite over yet, we are down to our final two “CONFERENCE POWER RANKINGS”. The OUA, RSEQ and CanWest have all shared time at the top this season and can all make a strong argument that they are “Top Dawg”. Last weekend we saw some of the best teams in each conference battle it out in interconference play, and the games didn’t disappoint. In the Mitchell Bowl, Mount Allison put their unbeaten record on the line traveling to Hamilton to face the OUA champion McMaster Marauders. In a tightly contested game, the Marauders advanced to the Vanier cup with a 24-12 win. The underdog Mounties were in the game the whole way as both defenses rose to the occasion. Unfortunately for Mount A, the Mac ground game, albeit not flashy or overpowering, steadily pounded away at the Mounties. The Marauders, who gained over 200 yards rushing were led by Wayne Moore who was the definition of a workhorse. Moore carried the ball 30 times for 146 yards and a score, helping secure the Marauders’ invitation to the 2014 Vanier Cup.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
