Football BC announces new GM & 2 additional players for invited tryout (roster)

Football BC announced today that BC Secondary School Football Association’s Larry Reda will assume the role as general manager of the provincial under-18 team that will compete at the 2011 Football Canada Cup slated to be held at the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta from July 9 – 15, 2011.

Reda takes over the position from Bernie Crump, who has announced his resignation citing family reasons. Reda served as the general manager for last year’s provincial under-18 team guiding them to a bronze medal finish at the 2010 Football Canada Cup held in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Dave Henderson Jr., a certified equipment manager, will take on the dual roles of equipment manager and assistant general manager for the 2011 provincial team.

Football BC also announced that two additional players have been invited to the Victoria Day Long Weekend tryout camp (May 21-23, 2011) at Simon Fraser University bringing the total list of invited players to 134.

The additional players are quarterback Mike Messenger (Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers) and running back Reagan Doucette (Langley Mustangs).
