Limoilou must win. Grasset has a shot at number 2. Garneau’s fate depends on Saint-Jean. The 514 rivalry has the number 4 spot at stake!

CΓ©gep Garneau Γ‰lans (3-5) vs Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (7-1) Garneau travels to Notre-Dame Friday night, facing a do or die situation. The Γ‰lans just won an emotional game against Vanier and, considering the circumstances, they should be mentally prepared to deliver their finest. Notre-Dame will not be easily conquered and with their offensive display versus AndrΓ©-Grasset last week, the Γ‰lans defence better be at their peak. The aerial duo of QB David Pelletier and Vincent Forbes-Mombleau has been terrorising secondary’s from game 1 and their running game is gaining a lot of ground with RB Gloire Muganda evolving every week. The Notre-Dame defensive front, led by #CFC100 DT Samuel Maranda-Bizeau and DE Alexandre Gagnon, will cause some disturbances and will pressure QB Thierry Doucet who connected twice for majors with WR Mathieu Blanchette to win in OT over the Cheetahs last Saturday. The odds are for a Notre-Dame win, but the number 7 playoff spot may still be Garneau’s, depending on Limoilou.

CollΓ¨ge AndrΓ©-Grasset PhΓ©nix (6-2) vs Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars (7-1) The PhΓ©nix is also travelling on Friday night to face a Champlain team that has been efficient in all three phases of the game. Their young QB’s are doing well and they can rely on the passing game as much as the run with their veteran offensive line anchored by #CFC100 OT Patrick Davis. The Cougars took advantage of their opponents weaknesses and have maintained their status of the highest scoring offence of the division. Defensively, they have been maturing in the secondary and their front seven, commanded by LB Dominik Brazeau, who is tied for first in sacks, and paired up with LB Sean CΓ΄tΓ©, who is ranked fourth in total tackles, stopped all the running teams. Their kicker, Vincent Blanchard, has been averaging 42 yards a punt and is 7 out of 8 in field goals. AndrΓ©-Grasset comes in to Lennoxville with the characteristic of being the least scored on team and having the second leading tackler, LB Yacine Audette, combined with the sack leader, #CFC100 DE Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal, will provide for a great confrontation. The PhΓ©nix offence has been different since the departure of RB Samuel Makwanda and WR FranΓ§ois Rocheleau. Their QB, Pierre-Olivier Potvin needs to have an outstanding showing for them to prevail. Champlain should win and claim the division title, which includes a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Collège Montmorency Nomades (0-8) vs Cégep Lévis-Lauzon Faucons (1-7) This will be a battle of offences and both teams want to finish on a positive note. Look for a competitive Faucons offence, pulled by #CFC100 OT Philippe Robitaille, to conquer the Nomades with a heavy dose of RB Joanik Masse.

CΓ©gep Limoilou Titans (3-5) vs CΓ©gep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu GΓ©ants (4-4) A must win for Limoilou and Saint-Jean wants to host the first round. These two teams have met many times in the last few years in these types of situations and there is a strong rivalry that exists. The Titans ground game struggled last week and their defence was abused by the Cougars passing attack. The rookie QB, Olivier Bamrounsavath, has improved every week and for them to have any chance of making the playoffs, he needs to be mistake free. The Titans major obstacle, the GΓ©ants’ aerial firing squad directed by #CFC100 QB Dimitri Morand who is looking to pass the 3000 passing yards mark. The offensive line, propelled by #CFC100 OG Pier-Olivier Lestage, will make sure they get those yards and win this rival game.

Vanier College Cheetahs (5-3) vs CΓ©gep Vieux-MontrΓ©al Spartiates (4-4) Probably the longest rivalry in the CΓ©gep football history and the biggest in the 514 area. A first round home game is at stake for both teams. Vanier’s offence has been experimenting some ups and downs, and if they can be limit the mistakes, they could score enough points to win. Their defence, led by #CFC100 LB Kean Harelimana and tackling leader LB Darren Kyeremeh, has all the tools to stop the Vieux-MontrΓ©al running game, which has been the Spartiates focal point this season. The Spartiates are equipped to stop the Cheetahs’ passing offence with their secondary arrowed by #CFC100 DB Benjamin St-Juste and #CFC100 DB JΓ©rΓ©mie Dominique. In the end, the team that runs the ball well, will be victorious and they both have the tools to perform at that level. Very tough one to predict.
