Regina welcomes a local CJFLer to their team.
Taylor Mayer, a defensive back from the Regina Thunder (CJFL), has spent his entire career playing in his hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan, and now he will have the chance to don the colours of the University of Regina Rams, green and gold.
βI wanted to stay at home and they have a really good program and a lot to offer for the school,β Mayer said, who spent three years playing with the Thunder. βThey have a very good, experienced coaching staff. Iβm looking forward to learning from them.β

Prior to his CJFL days, the 5β9, 175lbs athlete spent three years with the Winston Knoll Collegiate Wolverines (Regina High School Athletic Association). In 2014, he was the Thunderβs defensive rookie of the year. The following two seasons, he was defensive back of the year and a Prairie Football Conference (CJFL) all-star.
Mayer, who is interested in Criminal Justice, will have a few more months before he can begin to pen his newest story in the city of Regina. He said, βIβm excited to start a new chapter in my life with the UofR Rams.β
