OFFENSE-JORDAN SAMOIL- EDMONTON WILDCATS

The rookie tailback and product of Bev Fahey continued his incredible 2012 season in the Wildcats 48-34 shootout win over their Clarke Park co-tenants Edmonton Huskies on September 21. Samoil set new PFC & CJFL standards with a 365-yard, 4-touchdown effort as he broke Tristan Jones PFC record of 344 rushing yards set in a 2006 game and bested the previous CJFL single game best of 355 yards set by Craig Carter of the Windsor AKO Fratmen in 1999. Samoil leads the PFC in rushing with 1279 yards.

DEFENSE-JERMAINE GABRIEL- CALGARY COLTS

Gabriel doubled his interception total to 4 on the season, thanks to a pair of picks in Calgary’s 63-22 win in Winnipeg on September 23. He travelled a total of 94 yards on those 2 interceptions. A 63-yard return in the 4th quarter set up a Chucks Okafor 3-yard touchdown run. Gabriel is currently tied for eighth in the defensive points standings with 62.

SPECIAL TEAMS-JERMAINE GABRIEL-CALGARY COLTS

Gabriel becomes the first PFC player to claim 2 Players of the Week awards in the same week. In addition to his pair of interceptions in the Colts 63-22 victory in Winnipeg, he returned 2 kickoffs for 93 yards, including a 58-yard return.
