Ravens add their second cΓ©gep commit to their Class of 2018.
Housed on the QuΓ©bec side of the Ottawa River, Vincent Plouffe, a punter/kicker from CΓ©gep de lβOutaouais, wonβt have far to travel when he heads deep into Ottawa to join his new team, the Carleton Ravens.
Currently with Les Griffons du CΓ©gep de lβOutaouais (RSEQ Division 2), the product of Gatineau, QuΓ©bec, had his sights set on Carleton for two reasons, academics and established relationships.
βThe school program (entrepreneurship) had a big impact on my decision because I always wanted to start my own business,β Plouffe said. βSecond of all, I have a good relationship with the coaches and some players that are currently at Carleton. Every visit that I had, it felt like a brotherhood, a good atmosphere and a proximity between coaches and players, which I very (much) liked.β
Standing at 6β2, 195lbs, Plouffe was ranked third in the nation in his junior year as punter. He was also labelled as a βfive-star recruitβ after attending the National Scholarship Camp in Wales, Wisconsin. In his senior year, he held firm to his five-star recruit title and was pegged as a NCAA Division 1 prospect by Kohlβs Kicking. While with the Griffons, he was named special teams player of the year in his freshman year. In high school, he played at Du Versant (RSEQ).
With a new career on the horizon, Plouffe said, βThank you to my family, friends and coaches who supported me to achieve my goals.β
