McGill gives opportunities

McGill adds a Québec commit to their Class of 2018.

Drawn in by the allure of future prosperity, Nicolas Baillargeon, a wide receiver from Cégep de Sherbrooke, will be heading north to the city of Montréal after committing to McGill.

Touted as one of Canada’s top academic schools, Baillargeon said he chose McGill because of the school itself and the coaching staff. “The opportunity those two things give me in my future and in my football career were really what made me commit,” the potential bachelor of education student said.

“The coaching staff seems to be really passionate about what they’re doing and they really seem to put the importance on the academic part of being a student-athlete,” Baillargeon added. “They also look super passionate about the game of football and about all the complexity of it.”

Baillargeon spent five years with Les Barons du Séminaire de Sherbrooke (RSEQ) in high school before spending the next three with Les Volontaires du Cégep de Sherbrooke (RSEQ Division 2) in his hometown of Sherbrooke, Québec. In 2015, the 5’10, 155lbs athlete was Les Barons’ most improved player.
