Stingers add two provincial commits and one out-of-province commit to their 2019 class.
When Ben Nadeau, a tight end from CΓ©gep Limoilou, and Nicolas Coulombe-Rivard, a defensive lineman from the Chateauguay Raiders, join the Concordia Stingers, they will be looking to make the most of the opportunity.
Kaleb Remus, a defensive back from Football North St. Joes, will also be joining the Stingers.
Ben Nadeau
When it comes to continuing his career, Ben Nadeau knows he is in good hands with the Stingers. βI chose Concordia because I felt it was the best place for me,β he said. βI wanted a balance in between school and football. To me, they were an upgraded version of my cΓ©gep team. Iβm excited.β
Nadeau played for Les Titans du CΓ©gep Limoilou (RSEQ Division 2) and, in high school, the St. Patrickβs Fighting Irish (RSEQ) in his hometown of QuΓ©bec City, QuΓ©bec. Standing at 5β11, 250lbs, he is interested in leisure sciences.

Nicolas Coulombe-Rivard
Playing football at the university level was not on the radar for Nicolas Coulombe-Rivard. βWhen Coach Regimbald approached me about joining the team I was a little hesitant at first,β he said. βI had been on the work market as an electromechanics for a year and I wasnβt planning on returning to school.β
It didnβt take long for Coulombe-Rivard to feel at ease. βRight from the first meeting the coaches made me feel supported and welcomed,β he said. βThey also offered me a chance to meet with another player who had a similar background to mine.β
Coulombe-Rivard said that he and the coaches met several times to discuss their expectations. The coaches also showed him the resources Concordia has to help him transition to university life.
βThey are passionate and motivated to win,β Coulombe-Rivard added about the staff. βThis is a group of highly skilled coaches and I am eager to work with them.β
This wasnβt the first interaction Coulombe-Rivard had with Concordia, however. He said his grandfather worked as a carpenter at the university for as long as he could remember. βWhen I was younger, he gave me a Stingers mascot bobblehead,β Coulombe-Rivard said. βHe was really proud of this MontrΓ©al institution, the history behind it, and I always thought that if I was to go to university, that would be the one.β
He added that, βAll those steps helped me with my decision to go back to school and play football at a higher level.β
The 6β5, 300lbs lineman will be earning a science and technology certificate.
Coulombe-Rivard, who is from Chateauguay, QuΓ©bec, has been playing football with the Chateauguay Raiders (QJFL) for the past three years. Before that he spent a season with Le Noir et Or du CollΓ¨ge de Valleyfield (RSEQ Division 2) and three with Les Grenadiers de l’Γ©cole secondaire Louis-Philippe-ParΓ© (RSEQ). He was special teams player of the year in 2013 with Les Grenadiers. The following year he won a Bol dβor with Valleyfield. He was named as offensive rookie of the year with the Raiders in 2016 and helped the team win a QJFL championship the following season.

Kaleb Remus is a member of Football North St. Joes. The product of Ottawa, Ontario, played with both the Ottawa Myers Riders (OPFL) and the Kanata Knights (NCAFA). He is 5β9, 165lbs and plays as a slotback and free safety.
