Week 4 OFC Players of the Week: Woodman, Hitchcock and Jennings

Here are the OFC Players of the Week for Week #4:

Offensive:Β Β #80 Josh Woodman – WR – London Beefeaters
9 catches for 230 yards and 3 TD’s in a 37-11 victory over the Windsor AKO Fratmen

Josh Woodman, 2ndΒ Year WR led the Beefeaters to a big win over the visiting Windsor AKO Fratmen on Saturday. The Arts student at UWO had 9 catches for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns, including an 80-yarder on the first play of the game. The former Ursuline Pines grad will try to lead the Beefeaters to their fifth consecutive victory, when they travel to play the Ottawa Sooners on Saturday evening at 7pm at Keith Harris Stadium in Ottawa.

Defensive:Β Β #30 Connor Hitchcock – DB – Hamilton Hurricanes
1 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 INT returned TD’s in a 29-7 victory over the Twin Cities Predators

Connor Hitchcock, 2ndΒ Year DB from Sir Allan MacNab SS in Hamilton had a night that DB’s dream of. The DB had 2 interception returns for touchdowns (65 & 46 yards) on successive defensive plays for the Canes. Throw in a tackle and a forced fumble, and Connor ended up with 16 defensive points. Hitchcock and the Canes will host the Windsor AKO Fratmen on Saturday afternoon at 4pm at Ivor Wynne Stadium in a rematch of last season’s OFC Championship Game.

Special Teams:Β Β #7 Travis Jennings – RB – Brampton Bears
7 combined returns for 210 yards and 2 TD in 39-38 OT victory over the Burlington Braves

Travis Jennings, 1stΒ Year, RB/KR from Don Bosco HS in EtobicokeΒ Β had a great all-around game in helping the Bears to their first ever CJFL victory. Jennings scored twice on the night and added the winning 2-point convert in overtime to help the Bears come from 7 points down to the 39-38 upset of the Braves. Jennings and the Bears will look to make it two straight when they travel to Waterloo to play the Twin Cities Predators. Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm on Friday evening at Knight-Newbrough Field.
