Rallying from a 15-point de-ficit in the second half, the Ravens had a chance to win in the final 10 seconds, but the snap was high and Daniel Colella’s 33-yard attempt was wide.
“(Holder) Devan Green did a great job of getting (the high snap) down,” Ravens head coach Glen Mills said.
“This loss didn’t come from one play. We had a lot of missed opportunities.”
The 29-27 win by the Mississauga Warriors over the Rav-ens at Raider Field puts Essex on the road against Niagara for the playoffs and earns the Warriors a first-round bye.
“For me, it was a little frustrating,” Mills said. “At certain times of the game, we simply didn’t execute.”
Despite 551 yards in total offence, the Ravens trailed the entire game.
Mississauga jumped to an 8-0 lead before Tarrance Crawford pulled the Ravens to within a point with a 38-yard touchdown run.
The Warriors made it 15-14 before Crawford, who had 136 yards on 16 carries, scored on a nine-yard run. Mississauga responded with another score to take a 22-14 lead into the half.
The Warriors pushed the le-ad to 29-14 in the third quarter before the Ravens rallied.
“Our first half, we were really tentative and slow,” Mills said.
“We were almost lethargic.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
