The McGill Redmen had an intersquad game sunday at percival molson stadium in montreal. The game featured every player who participated in training camp.
As often happens, the offense sputtered early but was eventually able to put some drives together. The defense was led by their defensive line, in particular fredericton’s ben thompson. The lone offensive touchdown was scored by Gatineau receiver Thomas Fortin on a pass by QUFL rookie of the year Jonathan Collin.
The scrimmage saw approximately 55 to 60 offensive / defensive plays. Special teams were also mixed in to the scrimmage, with both the punting game and the field goal team getting repetitions.
The coaches were happy with the day, especially with the fact that all the players walked away from the day healthy.
McGill travels to Toronto to take on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, in an old ‘big 4’ match up, on Saturday. Game time 1:00 pm at Varsity Stadium in toronto.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
