The Terry Fox Ravens , CFCs #11, will face off against BC powerhouse the Vancouver College Irish (CFC Hon mention) in BC high school pre-season action at 3:30pm today at Town Centre Park’s Cunnings Field. The ravens returned from Ottawa, Ontario where the beat up on the St. Mark’s Lions.
Terry Fox traveled to Ottawa to play St. Mark’s this year, after the Ottawa school traveled west last year. The result was similar, the ravens out classing the Ottawa opponent by a final score of 44 to 6.
This years match saw the ravens play Canadian rules, which is foreign to BC teams who play american football rules. Last year St. Mark’s played american rules.
Terry Fox head coach Tom Kudaba, former B.C. Lion, and this years head coach of Team British Columbia, who earned a bronze medal at their first Football Canada Cup in over a decade, easily adjusted, considering the Football Canada Cup plays 3-down, canadian rules.
The ravens not only played the game in ottawa, they also managed to take a trip to the parliament buildings and traveled to Montreal to practice at McGill University’s Percival Molson stadium, who’s other tennant is the Montreal Alouettes.
