GAME OF THE WEEK:
Tier II
Itβs a dogfight at the Tier II level in the Rangeland League this year. Not only are the traditional powers Medicine Hat and McCoy loaded for bear, but theyβve officially added Holy Trinity Academy from Okotoks to their league this year which are no slouch either. Combined this circuit is the toughest in the province to advance a team into Provincials at the end of the year at Tier II. McCoy burst out of the gates early but HTA brought them back to earth last week. Medicine Hat started slow but has now climbed into the win column last week. This game will be an early rematch of a game between these two teams on Sept.2 where McCoy squeaked out a 15-11 victory. With more Tier II clashes on the horizon for both teams this will be another test in a long exam schedule for both teams.
Here are the Weekly Top-10 Rankings for all four Tierβs of high school football in Alberta for the 2010 season. These rankings will come out every Sunday (except for Labor Day when they will come out on Tuesday) from now up until Nov. 8.
The teams are slotted into Tiers based on their estimated school size, which may change once official counts are known at the end of September. Please note that games vs. US opponents, or tournaments are not taken into consideration for ranking or listed in the overall record of the schools due to too many variables and inconsistent rules for those games.
