The hamilton police were called in to break up a fight between heckling fans from hamilton and players from the St. Leonard Cougars from Montreal.
The fight occurred after the game, which St. Leonard lost 20 to 9. Several hamilton fans and several cougar players were involved in the brawl.
There was no word on injuries but an ambulance was called in to attend to at least one hurt person involved in the altercation.
No word from OFC & CJFL officials on actions being taken. OFC president Doug Dittmer was at the game but left before the altercation occurred.
Hamilton hosts the ottawa sooners in the Ontario Football Conference final next weekend. The winner travels west to play the winner of todays contest between the vancouver island raiders and the okanagan sun in the CJFL semi-final game.
