Football Canada investigating brawl

Football Canada, the national governing body of amateur football in Canada, in conjunction with its members, the Ontario Football Alliance and Football Quebec, is currently conducting a review of the events that occurred between players and fans during the October 16 Ontario Football Conference Semi-Final game between the St. Leonard Cougars and the Hamilton Hurricanes at Yvor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.

Richard Munro, Chief Operating Officer for Football Canada, has indicated that the by-laws of the Federation give jurisdiction to the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) as well as to the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) to conduct their own investigation regarding the incident and to determine whether or not disciplinary measures should be imposed upon those responsible for this incident.

As the national governing body of amateur football in Canada, Football Canada reiterates its position as being completely against any expression of violence in football.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
