Cambridge Wolverines: Playoffs have been good to them

The SOFAL playoffs kick into high gear this weekend and the Cambridge Warriors have eight of their eleven teams still playing.

Three Cambridge teams lost their first round games last weekend in heartbreaking fashion. Peewee Red missed a game tying convert in a 14-12 loss to the Twin Cities Warhawks. Atom Red came up short by six to Brampton, 12-6 and Peewee Gold had a pic-6 against in the dying seconds as Twin Cities won 12-6.

There is a full slate of games on at Debt Freedom Field behind Jacob Hespeler Secondary School this Saturday. Tyke Green Wolverines start the day off with a game against Mississauga at 10AM. The undefeated Tyke Red’s play Guelph at noon. The Gold Tyke’s defeated the Hamilton Panther’s 42-18 last weekend, and head to Brantford Sunday for a noon game.

In the Atom Division, the White Wolverines have the 2PM game against the Twin Cities Warhawks. The Peewee Green Wolverines also take on the Twin Cities at 4 o’clock.

All three Bantam teams had a bye last week, and play this week. The White Division Gold’s take on the Niagara Storm at 6PM, and at 8pm the Brantford Bisons come in for a Red Division contest. The Bantam White Division Green Wolverines meanwhile head to Hamilton at 2o’clock Sunday to take on the powerhouse Hamilton-Wentworth Panthers
