NCAFA (Ottawa Minor): Semi-final report – FINALS THIS WEEKEND

NCAFA finals are this weekend. Catch Sunday’s PeeWee and Bantam games on Rogers 22.

TYKE (Under 11)

James Scott, Anesu Latmore and Evan Murray scored for West Carleton, Blake Thompson and Jamie Smith had several tackles in a 24-18 loss to Kanata.

Nepean’s Terrell Brown scored all 19 points in his team’s 34-19 loss to Gatineau.

MOSQUITO (Under 13)

Raiders blanked the Generals 25-0. Spectacular running by Kyle Stewart put them out in front.

Jacob Spinella ended a defensive battle with a 45 yard TD for the Redskins in a 22-6 win over Gatineau. Kristian Beaulier (safety), Joel Briere (TD), and Stefano Federico (FG) also scored.

Trailing 15-0 in the 3rd, the Giants came back to beat the Mustangs 40-21 beginning with a kick off return by Luis Puente. Muhammed Kabeya, Ashton Johnny and Jonathan Sutherland each had TD’s. Luiji Vilain added extra points.

PEE WEE (Under 15)

Bell over the Raiders 36-35. The winning point came with one second left in the game. Bell TD’s by Steven Hanzidiakou (2), Joshua Nwaelleh, Jesse Skucas and Jack Dulmage. Raiders’ Justin Poitras threw two TD’s, Didi Vaillancourt scored 4 times and ran for 300+ yards. Quinlan Walker and Mostafa Kari were defensive standouts.

Solid defense from Daniel Barker, Connor Ayre, Wilson Choi, Connor Mackey and Anthony Ouchakov as Nepean blanked Kanata 10-0. Great game for Grant Purcell, as well as Alex Hatina, Brandon Smiley and Brett Simms on the O-Line.

Myers prevailed over Gatineau 7-6. Sean Edgecombe scored for Myers, Jocelyn (Elvis) Simard secured the win with an interception in the dying seconds.

BANTAM (Under 17)

Amer El-Zammar, Hadi Besmar, Mattie Wilson Damiano, and Hayden Walker (TD from Seb Poitras) scored for the Raiders in a 27-12 win over the Generals. Terry Lormil and Matt Woodstock added interceptions. Generals’ Chad Ouellette scored two 4th quarter TD’s and Jeremy Rioux stripped a ball in a come-back attempt.

Nepean’s Jordan Doucette (4 interceptions) and Ethan Goulet led the defense. Graham Smyth, Jordan Finn and Justin Bosquet each had TD’s in a 33-23 win over the Giants.

Great defense from Collin MacLeod and Evan Smith. Jonathan Cimankinda (2), Jonathan Tshibangu, Andrew Sneddon and Elias Castillo each scored in Bel Air’s 35-7 win over West Carleton. Darragh Magee had 5 converts.

Myers Riders beat previously undefeated Cumberland Panthers 20-2. Shayne Cowan-Cholette (2) and Kory Morgan (1) had TD’s.

MIDGET (Under 20)

After a 3 week break, Nepean led by 3 at the half, then scored almost 40 unanswered points, including 3 TD catches by Ryan Pratt, and 2 by Warren Perry, beating the Colts 56-14.
