Simon Fraser’s Palmer named to GNAC Academic Team

Burnaby, B.C. – Simon Fraser University Clan sophomore running back Bo Palmer has been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Football Team, the GNAC announced on Tuesday. Palmer has a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.31 in Communications at SFU.

A native of North Vancouver, Palmer has had a breakout season running the ball for Simon Fraser in 2010, rushing for 417 yards in seven games in a complementary role behind Clan leading rusher Gabe Ephard. Until last weekend, SFU had the top ranked rushing offence in the GNAC, and currently average 176 yards per game on the ground.

A former high school quarterback at Windsor Secondary, Palmer started his SFU career as a receiver, but was converted to running back in the spring of 2010. His longest rush of the year was an 80-yard touchdown run against Dixie State on October 23.

Palmer missed the Clan’s last game against Central Washington with a broken hand, however is expected to be back in the lineup on Saturday in SFU’s season finale at Humboldt State.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
