NCAFAβs spotlight was shining on their all star players last weekend at the Nepean Sportsplex.

The Pee Wee game, featuring players under 15 years of age, saw the East beat the West 36-6.
The defensive corps for the East had multiple QB sacks and limited the Westβs running game. Nick Cavanaghβs interception, which he converted into a touchdown, was the only score for the West. Dimitri Vaillancourt found the end zone via the ground, while Orleans Bengalsβ Mike OβConner, who was named team MVP, threw multiple TDβs to fellow Bengal Quinton Soares. He picked up the MPV award for top offensive player. Deion Banze of the Gloucester South Raiders picked up MVP honours as the gameβs top defensive player.
MPV winners for the west were Kanata Knightsβ Liam Mellor (top offence), Myers Ridersβ Darryl Jean-Baptists (top defense), and Gatineau Vikingsβ Dmitri Morand (team MPV.)
The Bantam game, for players under 17, was a close fought battle with the Western representatives taking an early 14-0 lead. The East bounced back though with 10 unanswered points before half time. In the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] quarter, the West scored a 90 yard touchdown to increase the lead to 21-10. Then with 1:30 remaining, and just 8 points separating the teams, the East moved the ball downfield to the one yard line, but were stopped by the West with little time remaining. Western all stars won the game 21-13.
MVP honours for the East went to Orleans Bengalsβ Dmitri Pronko (top offense), Cornwall Wildcatsβ Owen Stevens (top defense) and Gloucester South Raidersβ Amer Al-Zammar (team MVP.)
Western all stars were Rouben Charles of the Myers Riders (top offense), Bel Air Lionsβ Collin MacLeod (top defense), and John Ladurantaye of the Kanata Knights (team MVP.)
This weekend is the T.Litzen Bowl in Brampton with Myers Ridersβ Mosquito and PeeWee teams, as well as the Kanata Knightsβ PeeWee team representing NCAFA.
