Today CFC features class 2011 receiver from W. J. Mouat in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Desmond Bassi. Desmond has been playing football since grade 8 when he starred for Gordie Howe Middle school.

Desmond has really come into his own in the past couple seasons. After starting his career with Gordie Howe Middle school he then moved on to the W J Mouat Hawks. In 2010 Desmond was an all-conference and all-provincial receiver and played for Team British Columbia at the Football Canada Cup.
His most memorable football experiences have been winning the B.C. provincial championship in 2008 as a junior varsity player and winning a bronze medal at last summers Football Canada cup.
Desmond is thankful for the help he has received from two coaches during his career. “Coach Denis Kelly Mouat senior football coach, he has motivated and inspired me to be the best football player to my ability. Sean Beasley my Mouat Basketball Coach from gr. 9-12, he has not only helped me with sports but with other things in life to help me become a better person, like respecting everyone and having class.”
Desmond plans to play football in university and is working hard to get his grades higher so that he can attain that goal.
