Guelph Gryphons honour football grads and award winners (FitzGibbon MVP)

The Guelph Gryphon football team recently held its annual Football Banquet and Awards Celebration, at the Delta Hotel. The night celebrated and honoured the accomplishments of the 2010 Guelph Gryphon football team in front of Gryphon players, supporters, parents and alumni.

Fifth-year running back Nick FitzGibbon of Puslinch, Ont. who ranks as the schools all-time leading rusher with 3601 total career yards on 601 carries, was named as the teams 2010 Most Valuable Player. Fifth-year Matthew Rossetti of Mississauga, Ont. was named as the 2010 Wildman Trophy award recipient for excellence in athletics and academics. A new award named the β€˜Kyle Walters’ award was given to the β€˜smartest’ player who utilizes film, training and practice to be the most complete player. This year’s award recipient was Bryan Dunjko.
Fourth-year seniors Sebastian Howard, Jedd Gardner, Matthew Rossetti, Jarrett Woof and James Savoie were honoured. Graduating players Nick FitzGibbon, Grant MacDonald, Andrew Crosby, Scott Eggleton, Jordan Cobourne and Adam Dunk were also recognized. The University of Guelph, Department of Athletics would like to thank these players for their hard work and dedication to the team during their careers and wish them luck in all future endeavors.
