Team Canada Senior – profile of RB Nick FitzGibbon (video)

Nick FitzGibbon led the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference in rushing yards (804) in 2010 on 148 carries while averaging just over 100 yards per game — 4[SUP]th[/SUP] in the nation. The fifth year running back from Puslinch, ON capped-off his 2010 season with his second Second Team all-Canadian distinction. He also led the Guelph Gryphons to a playoff birth after a 4-4 regular season, earning team MVP in the process. FitzGibbon is a four-time OUA All-Star who earned OUA Rookie of the Year honors in 2006.

Nick is the all-time leading Gryphon in rushing yards with 3,603 on 601 carries. He also finishes tied for 7[SUP]th[/SUP] on the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) career all-purpose touchdowns with 40. Over the last three seasons, FitzGibbon has been in the top three OUA rushers with 853, 736, and 804 rushing yards in ’08, ’09 and ’10 respectively. He hopes to build on his impressive resume as he represents Canada at the 2011 IFAF Senior Men’s World Championship in Austria, July 8-16.
