Coach Cummins announces Acadia Axemen recruits and staff for 2011 (video)

β€œThis year’s recruiting class is the result of great effort and time by asst coaches Peter Fraser, Tom Flaxman and Chris Judd as recruiting is the lifeblood to our program,”

”The 35 talented young men are outstanding additions to the Axemen family. We’ve covered all our needs, especially in the kicking game and welcome a great class of student-athletes to Acadia. These men will continue to move us forward and build on our successes of last season.”

β€œAdding Sean Hall to our coaching staff brings in a another good young coach with CIS coaching and playing experience. Sean is going to do a lot work behind closed doors with coach McLachlan, the defensive backs, line backers and our coverage units. To get a coach with his experience coordinating, who wants to be at Acadia is huge for us after the departure of Marcello Simmons.”

β€œAJ Tufford brings a football family background and intensity to our Receiving corp and will lead the veteran laden group to another level. His passion and work ethic have shown through this winter and I expect our stable of receivers to be better than we’ve been since 2006.”

β€œBoth Hall and Tufford are dedicated coaches that will put in the hours to help us get better. Hall’s experience with Ottawa U will be great for our defensive backfield, he knows how it works in other conferences and his fresh take will be very helpful in moving our program forward.”
