Class of 2028 FB/TE Lukas Gataveckas out of Christ the King in Georgetown, Ontario, has one of the more unique stories in this yearβs CFC Prospect Game on TSN class. Born in Charleston, South Carolina before being adopted and moving to Ontario as an infant, Gataveckas has spent the last few years building his own identity through football and competition.

The interesting part is how quickly football clicked once he finally found the sport. Gataveckas did not grow up playing tackle football from a young age. Instead, the game started pulling him in during recess touch football games in Grade 8 when he realized he had a natural feel for catching the football. Then came his first high school game, and suddenly everything changed. Eight tackles, three receptions, and an interception in one night tends to get a young athleteβs attention pretty quickly.
Since then, the Acton athlete has developed into one of those do-everything players coaches love moving around the formation. Fullback. Tight end. Defensive contributor. Special teams athlete. The stat sheets from multiple teams already show a player capable of making plays in all three phases of the game.
Now he’s looking to leave his mark in Hamilton at the CFC Prospect Game on TSN.
