Eliasonβs football journey did not start with some lifelong master plan. Hockey was actually the first love for nearly a decade growing up in Edmonton before his parents, especially his father, pushed him toward football as a summer sport in 2022. He was unsure about it at first. One season later, he was hooked enough to eventually walk away from hockey completely and chase football full-time.
There is a little bit of old-school linebacker energy in the way he talks about the game too. He studies tape., and wants to understand offensive tendencies before the snap even happens. You can hear the influence from players like Luke Kuechly and coaches like Kavis Reed when he explains what football means to him now.
The production backed it all up in 2025. Eliason helped Austin OβBrien capture another 4A provincial championship while earning Metro All-Star honours after posting 56 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup over eight games. His winter season with the Edmonton Elks Selects program added another layer with 22 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, a touchdown, and multiple impact plays in tournament competition.
Now the Edmonton linebacker heads to Hamilton looking to prove the football coming out of Alberta’s 4A division deserves national attention too.
