Class of 2028 LB Evan Vandenbrink out of Sir Wilfrid Laurier in London, Ontario, already carries the kind of reputation coaches love looking for in a linebacker prospect.

Vandenbrink started playing football at seven years old and immediately connected with the team environment and the physicality that comes with the sport.
Over the years, Vandenbrink built his game through programs like the London Minor Wolverines, Motor City Jaguars, London Junior Mustangs, and the Laurier Rams. The results followed naturally. He helped win an OSFL championship at the U12 level, reached multiple OSFL finals afterward, captured Thames Valley District School Board junior football championships, and earned MVP honours during both of his junior high school seasons in 2024 and 2025.
Now comes a major step forward.
Vandenbrink will be attending prep school in the United States this year at Lakeway Christian Academy in Tennessee, giving him another opportunity to continue developing against high-level competition outside Canada.
The CFC Prospect Game process only adds more fuel to the fire.
Vandenbrink says seeing the level of talent across the country pushed him to keep working harder, which tends to happen when players realize just how deep Canadian football talent pools have become nationally.
The opportunity to compete against the best in Hamilton now becomes the next proving ground.
