Class of 2027 DB Jack Underhill out of St. Joseph in Ottawa, Ontario only started playing football in Grade 10, but the rise since then has happened fast.
After helping St. Joseph capture a city championship in 2024, the Ottawa defensive back earned a spot at the CFC Prospect Game on TSN heading into just his second year around the sport.

The appeal came naturally once he stepped onto the field. Underhill was drawn to the atmosphere, the competition, and the challenge of constantly improving alongside teammates and coaches. That growth mindset helped accelerate his development quickly at St. Joseph, where he became part of one of the stronger programs in the Ottawa area despite being relatively new to football.
There is also strong athletic background outside the game. Underhill plays competitive baseball for the Ottawa Nepean Canadians as both an outfielder and pitcher, skills that translate well to the defensive back position with ball tracking, body control, and reaction time. In 2025, he was also part of the Athletic Council at school.
Football influence exists within the family too. His uncle Patrick played university football at Queenβs and remains involved in coaching, something that has helped shape Underhillβs perspective on the sport and the work required to improve.
Now the St. Joseph defensive back heads to Hamilton for another major step in his football journey, looking to prove he belongs among some of the top young talent in Canada.
