The Ottawa receiver has been around the game since he was eight years old, building his football journey through stops with the Nepean Eagles, Myers Riders, Cumberland Panthers, and now St. Mother Teresa. Along the way he earned Team MVP honours in 2023 while also helping capture a provincial championship that same season.
What makes Vongβs profile interesting is the balance between confidence and self-awareness. The production speaks loudly, but there is still a clear understanding that development never stops. That mentality showed itself during the CFC Prospect Game tryout process, where he viewed the experience less as validation and more as another step forward.
Vong has also had opportunities to learn from NFL and CFL players throughout his football journey, experiences that helped reinforce the idea that football at the next level is possible with the right work ethic and discipline. As a receiver, he studies Philadelphia Eagles star Devonta Smith closely because of the way Smith succeeded despite being overlooked physically by some evaluators early in his career.
Track and field has become another important part of his athletic development, helping sharpen the speed and explosiveness that already make him dangerous with the ball in his hands.
Now the next opportunity arrives in Hamilton at the CFC Prospect Game on TSN, where Vong will have a chance to test himself against some of the best prospects in Canada while continuing to build his name on the national stage.
