Class of 2027 SAM/FS Sean Oliver Sterlin out of Collège Laval in Laval, Quebec has developed into one of the more physical and instinctive defensive playmakers coming out of the province.
The Laval native plays with an edge that immediately jumps out on film. Whether he is flying downhill against the run, attacking the quarterback, or tracking the football in coverage, there is urgency to the way he plays every snap.

Sterlin first picked up football during his first year of high school at Collège Laval and quickly realized the sport fit both his personality and athletic ability. The intensity of football immediately hooked him, but so did everything surrounding it. The locker room, the friendships, and the brotherhood all became part of what pushed him deeper into the game.
That development accelerated quickly over the next few seasons. By 2022, he had already earned Defensive Player of the Year honours, establishing himself as one of the rising young defenders in Quebec football. Since then, Sterlin has continued building his game into a versatile hybrid defender capable of lining up at multiple spots across the field.
His 2025 season showed exactly why college programs have started paying close attention. Sterlin finished the year with 40 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, four passes knocked down, and two interceptions, including one returned 80 yards for a touchdown.
The recruiting process has already started heating up for the Collège Laval defender. Sterlin has received offers and interest from Christ School in North Carolina along with three additional schools in Florida. Closer to home, programs including Champlain College Lennoxville, Vieux Montréal, and Cégep Montmorency have also entered the picture as his profile continues rising.
Now he’s got the opportunity to spread his zone of influence even further with a standout performance in Hamilton.
