Class of 2027 OG Zaimin Khan-Samardzic out of New Westminster Secondary in British Columbia is still relatively new to football, but the way he talks about the game already sounds like somebody fully consumed by it.

Khan-Samardzic started playing football in Grade 9, joining the New Westminster Hyacks program while continuing to build on an athletic background that included soccer, jiujitsu, and volleyball. But the turning point came in August 2024 during a trip to Georgia before his sophomore season. Playing against Mary Persons opened his eyes to what football could become at the next level.
For a young offensive lineman from British Columbia, it became one of those moments where the sport suddenly feels bigger than just practices and local games. Ever since that experience, the Surrey-born lineman has approached football differently, chasing opportunities and pushing himself to compete against stronger competition whenever possible.
That growth has already started showing up on the field. Khan-Samardzic earned Best JV Lineman honours at New Westminster and later represented Team BC at the U17 level, continuing to build his reputation as a tough and aggressive interior blocker who embraces contact.
The New Westminster standout does not come from a football family and has not yet received recruiting offers, but the hunger is obvious. There is still a rawness to his game, which makes sense considering how recently he entered the sport, but there is also upside in the way he moves and competes.
