Football loses one of the ‘good guys’: Condolences to the Bruce family (funeral arrangements)

Early in the morning on July 6th, 2011, Chris Bruce passed away. Chris was “Mr. Football” in the Durham area (east Toronto). Chris coached multiple teams every year and was the president of the Central Ontario Minor Football League (COMFL) fall league. This summer season he was the head coach of the Clarington Knights junior varsity program.

I had the pleasure of knowing Chris and spoke with him regularly. I can say without hesitation that he was one of the good guys, one of the guys that put the game and the kids first, and himself second. We need more of these people involved in our great sport. I will miss Chris.

Condolences to the Bruce family, COMFL, the Clarington Knights and every other person and organization that will miss Chris’s laugh and smile.
