According to sources Darrell Adams has officially been put on leave as the U of T football head coach effective immediately.
Adams was named the 27th head coach of the Varsity Blues in 2024 and led the team to a 2-19 record during his tenure on the sidelines, including an 0-5 record this season in the OUA.
Prior to joining the Varsity Blues he was the defensive line coach and strength and conditioning coordinator at Carleton from 2013-2016, and then moved on to become the associate head coach at Waterloo for seven seasons where he served as the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.
Before getting into coaching Adams played university football at Villanova and spent four seasons in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2007-2010.
CFC has reached out to the university for comment and has not heard back at the time of publication.
We will provide updates on the story as we receive further information.
