
Bantams win tough one, but Peewees and JVs routed in regular season finale for all three teams
The Oakville Titans Bantam squad held off a hard-charging Toronto Junior Argonauts team to win their regular season finale 39-26 in front of a large crowd at Bronte Field.
Quarterback Aidan Challis had another huge offensive performance for the Titans, completing seven passes on 11 attempts for 254 yards and two throwing touchdowns.
Challis also ran the ball for 91 yards on three carries, including a 62-yard touchdown.
Riley Manning and Alexander Filippini each found the endzone twice and Grant Hellmann scored one touchdown for the Titans.
Filippini scored on a 90-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter.
The Titans defence came up big in the fourth quarter, holding the Jr. Argonauts to 16 offensive yards, nullifying any comeback on the scoreboard.
Ball hawk Brett Switzer had two interceptions with pass knockdowns by Tristan and Stefan Finelli.
Declan Goncalves led the Titans in tackles with seven.
In other Titan contests from Sunday, the Peewee Titans closed out their season with a 34-0 loss to the Twin Cities Predators.
The Junior Varsity Titans also had a rough day, as they lost to the Burlington Stampeders 64-0.
The Oakville Titans play their home games during the OFC season at Bronte Field on Lakeshore Road West in Bronte Village.
The Bantams will take on the Huronia Stallions 11 am, while the Junior Varsitys will tangle with the Toronto Jr. Argonauts at 1:30 pm.
The Peewees did not qualify for the postseason.
