OFC: Varsity Cougars fight hard in playoff loss to Predators

The Chatham-Kent Cougars put up a good fight, but lost to the Twin City Predators 29 – 21 in the opening round of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) varsity playoffs. Five players have played their last game for the organization – defensive end Jake Langstaff, linebackers Brenden Thompson and Larry Vanden Berghe, offensive lineman Brian Armstrong and defensive back Jeremiah Hamilton — are still around from the Cougars’ first peewee team in 2006.

[*]Jeremiah Hamilton ran for a TD and threw a 85 yard TD pass to Josh Wright.
[*]Josh Woodman had over 150 yards receiving.
[*]Graham Smyth had 165 yards in return yards and had a Interception for a TD called back on a penalty.
[*]Tristan Robinet had an INT and 6 tackles.
[*]Larry VandenBerghe, Branden Thompson, Graham Smyth, Curtis Labute were our defensive standouts.
