Ottawa Valley star Jordan McMillan to play for the Gee Gees

One of the prized recruits from the Ottawa Valley has chosen to stay close to home to pursue his academic and football goals. Jordan McMillan, from Almonte Ontario, will become a Gee Gee this fall. Jordan told CFC his reason for choosing Ottawa University:

“I chose Ottawa U because of the helpful and dedicated staff, the strong football program with a rich tradition, and I look very good in garnet.”

Jordan began his football career in National Capital Amateur Football Association with the West Carleton Wolverines in 2003. He began his high school career in 2006, playing junior football with the Almonte Thunderbolts, winning ‘rookie of the year’ that season. In 2007 he again played for junior ‘bolts, this time he performed well enough to garner Offensive MVP.

2008 was a breakout year for Jordan. He played summer football for the Myers Riders and competed in his first Football Canada Cup with Team Ontario – East (U17). That same year he played for the Almonte senior team, winning rookie of the year. In 2009 Jordan participated in the Ottawa high school all-star game and again for the Myers Riders. He again played for Team Ontario East and was an integral part of the gold medal team, playing on the tourney’s best offensive line. Later that year with the ‘bolts Jordan was team MVP and Most valuable lineman. 2010 saw Jordan continue his success playing for the Riders, bolts (team MVP, MVL), Team Ontario East (U18) and in both the Ottawa high school all star game and OVFL all star game.
