Red River Cup: Winnpeg East handles Winnipeg West


The first offensive play for Winnipeg East was a 40‐yard bomb from Drenin Busch to Kaanon Felix. Two plays later, the two connected again for East’s first score of the game. At 11:25 Cameron Duplin dove in the end zone to catch Busch’s 18 yard pass, bringing the score to 14 ‐ 0.

With one minute remaining in the half, Busch continued his dominance through the air and threw a 56 yard pass, hitting Cameron Duplin inside the 10 yard line. He found Duplin again for the major with 6 seconds left in the half.

In the second half, Riley Harrison caught a 9 yard touchdown pass from William Reimer for the West’s first score of the game. On the ensuing kick‐off #86 Kai Madsen answered the touchdown with a 42 yard return. This set up a Drenin Busch field goal 28‐yards out. On the kick‐off West’s Xavier Prime ran 85 yards for a touchdown. The point after was blocked.

A 23 yard reception from Cameron Duplin set up another Drenin Busch field goal from 28 yards out.
