Red River Cup: Winnipeg West come back for victory over Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay’s #12 Dillan Tataryn opened up the score by throwing a 43‐yard strike to
#81 Josh Whitehurst 10 minutes into the half. With 1 minute left in the half a fake field
goal that found its way into the hands of #28 Xavier Prime and went all the way for an
18 yard touchdown to tie the game at 7‐7.

At 16 minutes in the second half, a huge catch by #86 DeVonn Shepherd aided by an
unnecessary roughing by Thunder Bay set up a run by #8 Kurt Parson for a touchdown
with 12 minutes left in the half.

Tataryn hit #77 Thomas Kazuba for a large gain. On the same play, a roughing the
quarterback penalty put Thunder Bay in Winnipeg West territory, but a 3rd down gamble
that failed kept Thunder Bay from getting any points out of the drive.
With 1 minute left in the half Prime runs for 47 yards, setting up a 10‐yard touchdown
pass to Devon Shepherd. Final score was 21 ‐ 7 for Winnipeg West.
