Canadian Football League Week #11
TORONTO — Anthony Calvillo, Khalif Mitchell, Paul McCallum and Craig Butler were named the Gibson’s Finest CFL Players of the Week for the eleventh week of the 2011 season.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges including: former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan (@MattDuniganTSN) and Duane Forde (@DuaneFordeTSN), now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Gibson’s Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week

For the third time this season, Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week. On Sunday afternoon, Calvillo completed 31-of-45 pass attempts for a season-high 421 yards, including a 45-yarder, and four touchdowns.
Calvillo’s first touchdown came in the first quarter on a 15-yard pass to Brandon London. His remaining three touchdowns came in the second quarter on a six-yard pass to Brandon Whitaker (@B_Whit2 ), a 9-yard pass to Kerry Watkins and a 15-yard pass to Jamel Richardson (@jamelrichardson). Calvillo’s dominant passing game led the Als to a 43-13 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Calvillo leads the league with 3,100 passing yards this season.

Gibson’s Finest CFL Defensive Player of the Week

BC Lions defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Defensive Player of the Week. In the Lions’ 28-6 win over the Toronto Argonauts, Mitchell registered five tackles, tying his CFL career-high, and the first three quarterback sacks of his CFL career.

For the second time this season, BC Lions kicker Paul McCallum has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Special Teams Player of the Week. On Saturday afternoon, McCallum connected on all four field goal attempts, coming from 39, 23, 32 and 28 yards, and two converts. In the Lion’s 28-6 victory over the Argos, McCallum registered four punts for 181 yards, with an average of 45.3 yards. His longest punt was 52 yards. He also registered seven kickoffs for 395 yards, with an average of 56.4 yards. His longest kickoff was 66 yards.

Craig Butler

Saskatchewan Roughriders 45 @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 23
Ontario native and Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive back Craig Butler was named Gibson’s Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Week. The former Western Ontario Mustang recorded two interceptions for 48 return yards, including a 30 yarder, and registered six tackles, a special teams tackle, a quarterback sack and a fumble return. With the best showing of his rookie season, Butler helped lead the Riders to their second-straight win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 45-23.
