TORONTO — Jon Cornish, Charleston Hughes and Adam Bighill were named the Gibsonβs Finest CFL Players of the Week for week 14, the Canadian Football League announced today.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges including: former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish continued his excellent play since taking over the teamβs running game two weeks ago, earning him both Offensive and Canadian Player of the Week honours following his dominating performance against the Roughriders.
The New Westminster, B.C. native had a career day, taking off for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns, en-route to leading the Stamps to a 40-3 victory over the Roughriders at McMahon Stadium.
Cornish has thrived since being named Calgaryβs undisputed starting tailback, registering a staggering combined total of 233 yards on 22 carries in two games.

This weekβs top defensive player is Stampeders linebacker Charleston Hughes. The fourth-year Stampeders had a career day against the Riders, tallying five tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.
Hughes also registered one fumble recovery, returning it 71 yards for his first career touchdown.

BC linebacker Adam Bighill takes home top special teams honours for week 14, following his big day against the Eskimos.
Bighill put the massive crowd of 50,213 at New BC Place Stadium on its feet after blocking a Damon Duval punt in the first quarter.
He also tacked on five special teams tackles in a 33-24 victory over Edmonton.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
