
HAMILTON, Ont. β The following athletes have been named OUA Football Players of the Week for the period ending November 20, 2011.
OFFENCE: Brad Fochesato, McMaster Marauders, Receiver
Fourth-year receiver Brad Fochesato caught a pass from quarterback Kyle Quinlan for a 75-yard pass-and-run play in the second quarter, mounting McMaster’s comeback win over the Acadia Axemen. The Windsor, Ont. native caught a total of five passes at the Uteck Bowl for 159 yards and connected with Quinlan for another touchdown later in that same quarter.
DEFENCE: Ben DβAguilar, McMaster Marauders, Linebacker
Second-year linebacker Ben DβAguilar came up big for the Marauders on defence in the Uteck Bowl on Friday night. The Hamilton, Ont. native recorded three solo tackles, two of those coming from sacks of Acadia’s quarterback Kyle Graves for a total of 14 yards. He also recorded a forced fumble in McMaster’s win.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Spencer Moore, McMaster Marauders, Wide Receiver
Rookie Spencer Moore (Hamilton, Ont.) was key for the Maraudersβ punt coverage. His presence on the field during punts kept Acadia’s return to a minimum at the Uteck Bowl on Friday night, helping the Marauders earn a spot at the Vanier Cup for the first time since 1967.
