Colton has been playing football for 10 years. He played 3 years with the atom warriors, 1 year with the peewee cougars, 1 year with the peewee sabre cats, 2 years with the Sherwood park rams and 3 years with the Androssan Bisons. He won a tier 1 provincial championship with the rams and a Miles championship in grade 11. He has also played for two all-star teams: Team north in bantam bowl and Team Alberta this summer (silver medalists).
His most memorable football experience “has to be the last play of the miles championship game vs Oleary last year. There was 0 seconds left on the clock we were around the 20 yard line. I got the snap had to scramble left looked to my receiver Mark Laplante who was running a out in the end zone, threw the ball on a dead run, Mark jumped and then toe tapped on the side lines to score and win the game. My emotions went from super low to extremely high because i thought we lost the game the play before that when i didn’t see the flag that Oleary took due to a pass interference call.”
Colton has had great support along his football journey. Namely his “mom (Shelly Balicki) and my Dad (Barry Balicki) because they are always supporting me in whatever i want to do and they also keep me out of trouble as much as they can. My brother (Quinn) because he is always pushing me to get better and helping me to stay on the track to sucess. Sammy Okpro (my trainer at Athletes Nation) because he was the only one that saw that i was a young athlete just looking for direction in both life and football and he did whatever he could to help me. Kamau Peterson because he took my game from average to great just from going to two of his football camps.”
Colton is an “extreme competitor” and for all those who will face him in the future…look out.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
