Jaykwon demonstrated early signs of football greatness. In his first year of playing football he was team rookie of the year. During his high school career with the Loyola Warriors, the standout was team offensive MVP.

Furthermore, Jaykwon was team MVP and team rookie of the year while playing for the Scarborough Thunder of the Central Ontario Minor Football League (COMFL).

While playing with the Thunder in 2008, the wide receiver got to experience a great opportunity.

“My most memorable football experience is when I went to the States with my Scarborough Thunder football team to play in a tournament it was an amazing week,” comments Jaykwon, who has also played with the Mississauga Warriors of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Most recently, Jaykwon was selected as a GTA Rising all-star and will participate in the Golden Horseshoe game on May 6[SUP]th[/SUP] at McMaster University.

Even though he may only be in grade 11, the Warriors standout knows where he wants to play university ball. Jaykwon wants to be a future University of Oregon Duck.

“I chose Oregon because they’re all about speed at that school and that’s basically how I play football with pure speed,” explains Jaykwon who says that his stepfather, mother as well as college players De’ Anthony Thomas and Tyrann Matthieu are his main influences. “A huge factor was one of the players that inspired me, De’Anthony, and he chose to go to Oregon.”

As for future plans, Jaykwon is focused on his football career and plans on making it to the next level while pursuing other interests away from the field.

“My future plans is to go to Oregon and have the best four years I could ever have and hopefully enter the NFL draft and get drafted,” says Jaykwon. “Career wise, I’m taking photography and computer technology because I usually do those things in my spare time and I’m taking them now in high school.”

A big reason the star wide receiver has been able to accomplish football greatness on the field is due to the hard work ethic he possesses. When Jaykwon is relied upon to do something, he ensures that he follows through and completes it.

“I’m a great teammate and I am working on my leadership skills to start to be more of a leader on and off the field,” adds the Warriors standout.

Moreover, the relentless attitude and perseverance is something Jaykwon not only demonstrates on the field, but in all other aspects of life.

“I’ve learned to never give up, even when it seems like you can’t do something you always have to try and to never take anyone for granted if someone offers to help you get to where you want to be then to take it,” says Jaykwon.
