Midget Football history.
Midget football is open to players in grades 9, 10 and 11. Most players at this level have already played football. Though the league and Teams always welcome new faces. One unique thing about the Edmonton Midget league is that they allow and even welcome female players. Midget Division was added in 2005. Midgets are players who are currently in Grades 9, 10 or 11 and who are not turning 19 in the current calendar year. In general terms, if you are eligible to play High School in the fall, you can play Midget in the spring of the same year, provided that you are no older than 18 during the current calendar year.

Edmonton Chargers (2011 Tier II Midget Champions)
The Chargers midget team was the 2011 Tier II Midget Champions for Capital District Minor Football Association. They graduated a fair number of players last year. However, they are impressed with the talent level of the players at the practices the team has held so far and are looking forward to the 2012 season. “Will have a better idea of the overall level of play after the exhibition games that we have lined up”, said Susan Morgan,
Manager for the Chargers.
The league starts on March 31 with an exhibition jamboree in Spruce Grove.

Edmonton Eagles Tier II
The Eagles season last year was a rough one, and this year they have graduated almost all of the 2011 players, two returning players that have made an incredible impact are Fraser lake and Cody Arseneault. Fraser came to the Edmonton Eagles never playing a day of football in his life. Last year he lead the team with allowing the fewest sacks for a new player. Fraser also won the Rookie of the year award at the year end banquet. Cody was the 3rd leading tackler on his High school football team the St Joe’s saints, and is the force to be reckoned with on the Eagle team.
The Edmonton Eagles take a unique and incredible approach on the team and the games, as head coach Mike Rowe always say’s ” I don’t care if we win a game, it is how we present ourselves as a team on the field, and what the players take away from the game”. The Edmonton Eagle coaches are some of the most knowledgeable coaches in the city. This year due to the number of players the team had come out, The eagles have joined together with the Sherwood park Wolverines. Keeping the name “Wolverines”
