The Niagara Storm Varsity team played their first game on May 19th to open the Ontario Minor Football League (OMFL) season.
The hilites for the Storm were the defence holding the Steelers to 6 points until the final quarter. The Offence moved the ball well for three quarters but came up short on two goal line stands. Final score was Storm 0, Hamilton Steelers 14.

The turning point in this game came late in the third quarter when our guys going both ways stared to get hurt and extremely tired.
Coaches Comments:
“The Varsity Storm played very well on their first game against a Hamilton team that numbered in the 40βs. Our bench is short and too many players have to play both ways. In the heat of the summer we are only asking for the two-way players to get hurt. We need to get more players so we have depth.”
