OVFL Varsity and Junior Varsity Guelph Bears both even at 1-1

Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Bears are now even at 1-1 on the season, sadly the Royal city faithful had different results as they faced The Forest City.

The Varsity Bears Lost 28-7 last Saturday against a good London team. Coach Jeremy MacLoed said fallowing the game that his team did not deserve to win that game, but “at least we know we can compete with London.” One of Guelph’s down falls on the day was their lack of disciple. The one bright side for Guelph was their defense, as Emin Spahic has an interception for a TouchDown.

Varsity Guelph Bears are 1-1 going into their game against the SSM Sabercats

The JV Guelph Bears Won 35-23 against London last Saturday, Job Reinhart (QB) went 9-16 for 225 yard and two touchdowns, Job was injured at the end of the second quarter and placed by Walker Breen. Walker had an impressive performance, going 5-5 for 37 yards in his first stint at QB this season.
Ryan Finoro was also a stand out for Guelph as he played both sides of the ball all game. Ryan had 10 carries for 77 yards with two touchdowns and 4 receptions for 78 yards and one touchdown, a power house! On defence he had 4 sacks and assisted on one tackle with a fumble recovery.
Coach Chas Douglas said fallowing the game that he was happy with his team’s performance but his men still had a lot to work on, his team took to many penalties.

JV Guelph Bears are 1-1 going into their game against Ottawa Cumberland.
