The Huskers were on the wrong end of a 64-10 walloping at the hands of the Kamloops Broncos last week while the Westshore Rebels were blown out by the defending champion Vancouver Island Raiders on home turf by a score of 44-14.
The marquee match of the week also takes place on Saturday with a rematch of last year’s Cullen Cup Final with the Raiders playing their home opener at Caledonia Park hosting the Langley Rams at 5 pm.
The Rams will be looking to build on their huge 42-14 road victory over the Okanagan Sun last week while the Raiders, as mentioned, are fresh off that convincing win over the Rebels.
Week 2 action will conclude on Sunday, August 12 with an all-Interior battle between the Broncos and the Sun at Hillside Stadium. Kickoff is at 5 pm.
